18 of 31 passes for 319 yards with two interception. The Carolina defense had allowed just 7 TD passes in nine games before getting torched by Leak. Arkansas QB Matt Jones rushed for 126 yards on just 5 attempts, including a 72-yd TD scamper. Georgia TB Thomas Brown did all he could in the loss to Auburn by rushing for 92 yards and totalling 49 yards receiving. Auburn TB Carnell Williams had 101 yards (22 attempts) against Georgia. Alabama TB Ken Darby rushed for 109 yards against LSU.
Freshman LB Brandon Siler was sensational against South Carolina as he recorded 14TT, 3.5TFL and 1QBS. Kentucky DB Muhammed Abdullah had 10TT, 2QBS and 1FF against Vanderbilt. Auburn CB Carlos Rogers had 8TT, 2TFL, 1 INT and 1QBS against Georgia. Alabama LB Freddie Roach had 9TT and 2TFL against LSU. LSU DB Laron Landry had 10TT against Alabama.
