owned the Vols during that period.
Georgia has only been tested once (by a poor USC team) this season and have played a relatively soft schedule thus far. Vice versa, the Vols have played much stiffer competition. This has to be a big plus for the Vols and their quarterbacks.
Georgia QB D. J. Shockley will be a factor either negatively or positively. In the only competitive game this season, Shockley did not play well, but did make the crucial play late in the game to stave off a possible USC upset. How he handles the pressure of a big hostile crowd and, more importantly, a Vol defense that has the potential to be excellent will be key. Thus far, the Vol defense has not played to potential but has made crucial plays in wins over UAB and LSU.
Both teams have excellent talent and speed. Tennessee has the more experienced and mature team.
Now that the Gators have an SEC loss, the Vols are back in the hunt for the SEC East title. They have been given a reprieve. The Dawgs should expect the Vols best shot and that best shot should be good enough to pull out a 24-20 win.
